Beauty and the Beasts Exhibition - Manchester (09/2019)
Two of Kelly's bee illustrations are now on display at Manchester Museum as part of the 'Beauty and the Beasts; falling in love with insects' exhibition which is located on the 3rd floor next to The Study. The exhibit runs from November 2019 - November 2020.
Art for the National Graphene Institute, Manchester (09/2019)
Kelly has loaned a selection of bee illustrations and a contemporary painting of the NGI building to the National Graphene Institute for display inside lab spaces and the gallery exhibition space which is viewable from the main road.
Manchester Life Sculpture Commission (16/10/2019)
Sculpture commission for Manchester Life who wanted a vibrant artwork themed around the city’s culture for their new Ancoats offices.The design has multiple references to Manchester music culture and cotton trade as well as prominent people illustrated onto the abdomen. Both the city skyline and wings glow in the dark. The sculpture is now on permeant display in the main lobby.
Gerald Durrell and Space Ape Raise £53,000 for Conservation Charity! (07/2019)
The two sculptures sold at auction for £36,000 and £17,000 respectfully. The proceeds will go towards funding a new gorilla enclosure at Jersey Zoo + help the Durrell foundations conservation efforts around the globe. On top of this the Gerald Durrell sculpture has been donated to the zoo so it can be permanently on display.
STEM Bee Arrives in its new Hive! (01/2019)
After raising £22,000 for local charities, the STEM Bee has arrived at its new home in Kamani Property HQ where it is ready to meet new visitors. Thanks again to Kamani for supporting the STEM Bee project!
STEM Bee Raises £22,000 for Local Manchester Charities (18/10/2018)
The STEM Bee beat all expectations last night at the ‘Bee in the City’ Auction where the sculpture was sold for an incredible £22,000 which will be used to help fund initiatives around Greater Manchester.
As the artist, I’d like to take the time to say thank you to all of the STEM researchers who took part in the project and also to my sponsor ARUP for backing the STEM Bee. I couldn’t have done it without all of you!
